Chapter 272. Emotional Maturity
My heart was thumping in my chest as I stared into Josh's eyes, about to tell him what I had done. This was something that I felt like I needed to do or it was going to eat me alive slowly, depriving me of whatever shred of piece of mind that I was clinging onto.
“I’m so sorry but I did something that you’re probably going to hate me for.” My voice was small.
Josh chuckled and then ran his hand through his hair. He adjusted himself in the car seat and then turned to the driver. “Hey, buddy, can you give us a few minutes?”
“Of course, sir,” The driver replied and then got out of the car. As soon as the door closed, Josh turned to me and nodded as if he was giving me permission to continue.
“Um…so when I came to work this morning, Bradley and Mike were in my office waiting for me.”
“Mike? Or do you mean Mark?”
“No, Mike. He’s a lawyer, my lawyer, to be exact.”
“Okay…and?” He seemed calm, almost as if he knew
