Chapter 45. The Game of Pretenses

Emma glanced over at Anna, a faint smile playing on her lips. Today, neither Anna nor she was wearing the dresses they had chosen at the store the previous day.

Anna was dressed in a deep red gown, vibrant yet seductive, completely different from the elegant dresses she had selected before. As for Emma, although she hadn’t directly chosen a dress during the fitting session, she had also wisely changed her choice.

Emma inwardly scoffed, unable to stop herself from thinking that Anna was still the same—always fake and insincere, even with herself.
