I walked back into the restaurant with Aidan’s words still humming in my head like an unfinished melody. I wasn’t sure if I should be flattered, confused, or deeply concerned. Maybe all three. That was the thing about Aidan—he always left you with more questions than answers.
The smell of grilled sea bass and garlic butter wafted through the air as I stepped past the main floor. Customers laughed, clinked glasses, and Kaci popped out from the kitchen doors, eyebrows lifting the moment she saw me.
“Dahlia! Clear table six real quick? The guy just left a mess—like actual chaos.”
Honestly, I’m the type that hardly hates. But since I started working at Seb’s Place, there are two individuals who had made it almost impossible not to hate them; Kaci and Loren.
