DAHLIA
I cower in one corner of the isolating cell, watching as people pass by me without much attention. This is not a jail cell. It is just a detention cell for those who are yet to be cleared on whether they should be released or thrown into jail.
Being in jail scares me as I close my eyes and hope that Toni told someone about my situation.
I recall making mistakes with a customer, getting the name of the restaurant wrong, forgetting to wear my uniform while serving, and on top of that, I completely forgot another customer’s order and gave her the wrong plate she ordered.
I bow my head in frustration as I rethink all the moments that had led me here.
