Chapter 87
DAHLIA
“I’m taking the left side of the bed.”
The way his face froze, utter disbelief mixed with that slow, restrained irritation he did so well, was almost worth the argument we had earlier. Almost.
His brows pulled together. “You’re what?”
I bit back a grin, stretching lazily like I hadn’t just dropped a bomb on my infamously control-obsessed boss. “You heard me, Mr. McCoy. The left side’s mine. You can take the right.”
He looked like he was calculating whether to scold me or kiss me again. His jaw flexed, eyes narrowing in that way that always made my stomach flutter. “That’s my side.”
Who could have thought? If I knew this man who often claimed to be a grown adult would be obsessed with a side of the bed, I’d have used that as my weapon sooner.
“Was”, I corrected sweetly, climbing onto the bed and fluffing the pillow like I paid rent here. “Past tense. You forfeited it the second you decided to bring a recovering patient into your bed.”
