The lecture room where Professor Derman was taking the course Sociology of Gender may have been buzzing with the activity of question asking, side talks, and, of course, the main lecture, but asides from the Professor’s voice — which was mainly for my benefit — every other sound blended in with my thoughts. And even then, my brain seemed to know the intrinsics well and would allow me, in dire times, to crop out some information that she was doling out that wouldn’t be necessary to my understanding or information that I was sure I could read up later.
