Chapter 33
Ryan gave Julie another minute to pull herself together to gain her composure. He scanned the area again to make sure that there were no more harpies. The seagulls, the hawk, and the eagle were back to flying in circles around the sky as if nothing out of the ordinary just happened. When Ryan looked back at Julie, he saw just how exhausted she was. This took all the energy out of her, and Ryan knew that she needed to rest.
“Let’s try to find Thunderbird,” he suggests. “We don’t have the map anymore, but that was useless in this world anyway. I still have the compass, so that should get us to Thunderbird’s house. Cecrops told me that he sent a message to let Thunderbird know to expect us here within the next few days. Hopefully, he can let us get some rest at his house before we head out to the last portal.” Ryan pulled the compass out of his jacket pocket and held it up in front of his face.
