Chapter 24. Dying Time
A cold wind blew bitterly, chilling Matt and Nancy’s bones. They are surrounded by raging vicious werewolves who happen to be in their wolf form, ready for attack. Overhead, dark clouds blotted out the moon from time to time, casting the centuries-old cemetery into an inky blackness. This is how far they could get, running away from the werewolves.
Rick is nowhere to be found. He has gone after Clinton. No idea his daughter was snatched from Clinton by an unknown enemy.
“Clinton!” he yelled all fired up in anger. He scans around with his eyes. It’s very easy for vampires to see in the dark. “Show your ugly face and hand over my daughter, unharmed!”
Rick paused for a moment and paid close attention to any heartbeat besides Clinton’s. He heard a racing heartbeat. It raced faster than normal. He could tell whose heartbeat it was.
“That’s it,” he said, moving one and a half times faster than the theoretical maximum for a human speed.
