POV: Rhys Anderson
There was an indifferent look written on my face as I drove to the airport, having mixed feelings. The reason for that was obvious, and didn’t need any explanation. For the first time since I began working as a private detective, I had lost, and this time around, it was worse and seemed as if a knife had been struck deep into my heart.
I hadn’t controlled my feelings and had ended up liking Harmony so much, so, now that I had been rejected multiple times by her, I felt terrible. Not only had I lost in doing the job I came to Texas for, but I had also lost in the matters of the heart, so, as the boss continued to yell at me, reprimanding my actions, I knew that I deserved it and didn’t even bother to counter any of the things he said about me.
