Chapter 29

POV: Rhys Anderson

I pulled the car over at Harmony’s apartment, and she shot me a glance that said, “she wasn’t ready to be home yet". I gave her a small smile, after which I unfastened my seatbelt, then stepped out of the car; a luxurious sky-blue Maserati.

Turning around, I opened the door for her, while she stretched her hands to grab the bag of goodies she had gotten for her brother from the backseat, before deciding to alight from the car. Something fell just as she stepped down from the car, and when I looked at what laid on the floor, I chuckled.

“What’s funny?” she asked.

“Take a look at what’s on the floor,” I said, pointing my forefinger.

A smile appeared on my face as she saw what had made me laugh. She clicked her tongue pitifully, as she bent down to pick the white stuffed rabbit, which had fallen to the ground. It was just about the size of my palm, and we had won it after several attempts to win something from the toy vending machine.
