I adjusted the blue and black patterned pocket square in my breast pocket, then looked at myself one last time in the mirror. The three-piece red suit suited me perfectly, and matched correctly with the black leather shoes my mother had given me on my birthday earlier this year. It was the first time I was putting them on, and I was sure she was going to be glad that I was putting on her present.
All my life, only one woman had truly stayed by my side even when things were tough and that woman was my mother. Even if she wanted the world, I didn’t mind giving it to her; she deserved everything in life.
It was past 7pm and I stepped out of my bedroom, then headed out to the living room so that I could leave the apartment and go to where I was headed. Many things didn’t seem right, and soon enough, I was going to fit each missing piece correctly to solve the puzzle that had been thrown at me, but I needed to see someone first.
