Chapter 78
POV: Rhys Anderson
One month later
I felt something really warm on my head and I could hardly feel my body. It was as though I was paralysed, but I tried to move my fingers, slowly regaining consciousness.
The conversations going on in the room sounded really faint and I couldn’t make out the words properly. Again, my fingers managed to move, and although I kept being pulled back into the realm of darkness, I silently fought hard to see what was going on in the light.
Soon, my struggle paid off and my eyelashes fluttered before my eyes slowly opened. At first, everything was dim, then it became hazy soon enough. I couldn’t clearly see anything and I kept swooning; my eyes opening and closing as my body had been overtaken by fatigue.
“He’s awake,” I heard a voice say. It was faint and seemed like it had been said far from where I was, then I could make out the fact that someone was hovering over me.
I blinked once, then twice.
