Katy’s POV

I woke up as early as possible, with excitement soaring through me, and that was because of what had happened the night before. When I clicked on Darnell’s message, I couldn’t contain my joy. I was over the moon and couldn’t hold in my shout. Amy was startled, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Mom or even our neighbors woke up. I don’t know what I would do without Darnell; she’s my princess in shining armor if there’s something like that.

I don’t know how she got the offer, but she said one of her colleagues in New York spoke about looking for a replacement at her job due to personal reasons. I was so excited that I didn’t even ask Darnell about the job. I trust she won’t get me a job that isn’t good, but I’ll have to find out for myself when I reach the place or company for my interview, which is what I’m preparing for at the moment.
