Chapter 50
The sacred ritual of the Harpies went on as calmly as ever. The ritual is carried out in the crater of Mount Khain which is believed to be the gathering place for the ancestral spirits of the Harpies. Guided by the elders and led by the Harpy king, prayers were chanted, and then continued with enjoying offerings in the form of fruit and livestock that had been arranged to eat together. It is believed that doing this will further strengthen their ties of friendship.
All the Harpies were present at this place except for the toddler and his mother, pregnant women, and the palace guards who, as usual, were always assisted by the guardians to secure the ritual. However, the thousands of people who attended were all able to enter the crater area of Mount Khain, which shows how powerful the volcanic eruption was in the past and the crater that was formed was so wide.
