Chapter 25
Avery’s POV
“Back outside,” he starts, “I asked the redhead where you were, and she said that you’d left the room. God, I was so scared, and that’s when I knew I had taken it too far.”
“But then you came here?”
His shoulder lifts in a shrug, and his voice muffles when he burrows deeper into my hair, “I just wanted to be sure you weren’t in the room. And for some reason, this is the one place you always seem to run off to.”
I poke his side teasingly, “I remember someone telling me to hide in here the last time he was here.”
He chuckles, and I join in and just like that, my heart feels light and full again. He sighs and runs his fingers down my face, “I love you so much, baby.”
I lift my head from his chest to regard him with a coy smile, “Really?”
He stares blankly at me for a second, and faster than I can keep track of, he rises up on his knees and grabs my legs to wrap them around his waist.
