Taylor’s POV
“Someone was actually looking for you earlier,” Yumi said.
“Who??” I asked.
“I don’t know, but it was Grant who talked to him. I don’t know his name but Grant seems upset after that.”
I wonder who it was. Maybe a patient? Even though there’s still a wall between Grant and me. He still managed to drive me home from time to time.
The drive back home was filled with an uncomfortable silence, the weight of unanswered questions lingering in the air. Grant gripped the steering wheel tightly, his knuckles turning white, while I fidgeted nervously in the passenger seat. We both knew some things needed to be said, but finding the right words felt like an insurmountable task.
As we pulled up to my apartment building, Grant finally broke the silence. His voice was tense yet filled with genuine concern. “Taylor, who is Michael?”
