Chapter 37

Taylor’s POV

Grant’s words cut through the air, leaving a trail of unresolved tension lingering between us. The weight of our argument hung heavy in the room, suffocating any chance of reconciliation. Frustration and anger had taken hold of our hearts, and at that moment, Grant turned away.

The silence engulfed me, and the memories of my past flooded back, consuming my thoughts. Flashbacks of the pain and fear I had endured resurfaced, clawing at the edges of my consciousness. It was as if the wounds that had barely healed were ripped open once again.

I slumped onto the couch, my mind plagued by echoes of my past. Scenes from my toxic relationship with Michael played out like a haunting film. The harsh words, the controlling behavior, the fear that had become my constant companion—it all came rushing back, overwhelming me in a wave of emotions.

I curled up, clutching a pillow tightly to my chest, trying to shield myself from the onslaught of memories.
