Chapter 72. Doubts

Daniel POV

I watched as Aria shoved the door open and left the bathroom. Her words froze me to the spot and I didn’t even attempt to follow her. Could everything she said be true? And how dare she talk to me like that? She showed no respect whatsoever when she spoke to me.

“Is the lack of respect all you care about, Daniel? What about the things she said about Lea? I told you she seemed suspicious but you ignored me as well. Are you going to ignore Aria, too? Why don’t you go ask your father if

Aria is telling the truth? As for the lack of respect, you deserve it for being such a jacka.ss,” Cole growled.

“I should go back to the prison first,” I told Cole and left my room.

As soon as I entered her cell, Lea shivered and crawled into a corner, her eyes filled with fear.

Why was she reacting that way?

“Maybe because she’s afraid Aria told you about her and for once you believed her,” Cole mocked inside my head.
