Lola's POV
The next morning, I woke up with some kind of strange feeling rushing through me. My senses were heightened so much that I could hear even the faintest of sounds from the forest behind the house, like the little noises made by the insects in the forest.
"Do you feel it too, Jasmine?" I asked, and she made a sound that seemed like a groan.
"Can you try not to scream next time, please?" She groaned again. "I think I have it worse because I'm your wolf side."
"What do you think is happening?" I asked her in a whisper, I did not want to hurt her if I could avoid it.
"If I knew, I wouldn't be in so much pain. It's a lot to get used to," she murmured before she went silent.
She was right; it was a lot to take in. I could hear Adrian breathing in his room, the clanking of plates, Rose's gentle singing, and the sound of the newspaper Jayden was flipping from the living room.
