My concern about Henry noticing me was briefly forgotten when Alice, with a playful sparkle in her eye, proposed a trip to Alexander's room. Initially, her comment about wanting to "kill him" caught me off guard, but soon after, I realized she was just joking.

The clean smell of antiseptic lingered in the air as we walked through the hospital corridors. While Alice tried to open the door, I wondered about Alexander’s condition, but to my astonishment, he was wide awake and apparently in high spirits.
