Chapter 46

After he was gone, I decided to go back to my room and rest.

In the morning, someone kept knocking on the door and disturbing my sleep. I wanted to scream at whoever it was, but I remembered I wasn't in a position to do so. So, I got out of bed, rubbed my eyes, and stumbled towards the door. When I opened it, I wasn't surprised to see Henry outside, and as usual, he was scowling!

"Did you have a good night's sleep, Chloe?" he asked maliciously. But before he could remind me of my low status, I turned around and ran to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

How could he expect me to talk to him when I had just gotten out of bed? As soon as I finished brushing my teeth, I returned to him, and he was already crossing his arms over his chest. "I apologize for waking up late," I told him.

"Do you think an apology can satisfy my hungry stomach? What are you waiting for? Go now and prepare my breakfast!" he snapped at me before turning his back.
