Chapter 40

The hospital room had a mysterious atmosphere as I watched a figure walk in and for a moment, I thought it was Alexander’s ghost. Did he die in the operating room? But then, the man who entered walked toward me, and then he smiled.

“Are you the one who brought my brother here?” he asked. “Oh, sorry. My name is Nathaniel Frost, and Alexander is my twin brother,” he introduced himself.

“A twin? Oh my, I really thought you were his ghost!” I exclaimed in disbelief but once again, Nathaniel expressed his heartfelt appreciation that I brought his brother to the hospital.

Our conversation, however, was suddenly disrupted by the arrival of a group of family members. As they went straight to the bed to check on Alexander, I became uncomfortable in their presence. I felt so out of place but just as I was dealing with the discomfort, Alice Evergreen arrived!
