Chapter 51

One day, when Henry was away, I decided to visit Pedro's house. I couldn't explain it, but I wanted to keep Pedro as a friend. We had a great connection, and I loved his sense of humor. I took a deep breath outside Pedro's room and knocked on his door for strength and courage.

"Hello," I murmured, smiling at the most attractive man I had ever seen. When he smiled back, I couldn't contain my excitement and giddiness. I felt a million butterflies in my stomach, and I had to close my lips to stop myself from drooling over him.

"Please come in, Chloe." Pedro opened the door wide to greet me.

"Your place is nice," I sincerely complimented his space. Otherwise, my mouth would start complimenting him on everything within seconds. Even as a housemaid, I was intrigued by the idea of living with him. He was kinder than Henry and didn't treat me like a second-class citizen because of my current job.

"How are things going, Chloe? You look upset," he noticed.
