Chapter 7

Tears welled up in my eyes as I packed my bags. The house that had once been filled with warmth and laughter now felt cold and unwelcoming. I moved around my room and picked up the pieces of my life. My hands trembled as I zipped up my suitcase.

This was it. I was leaving my home, the only place I had ever known. But I had made my choice. I was going to keep my baby, even if it meant leaving everything behind. My father didn't say a word as I walked past him towards the door. His silence hurt more than any words he could have said. I paused at the door, taking one last look at my childhood home. Then, with a deep breath, I stepped outside into the unknown.

"Chloe, stop!" he called.

I stopped walking and turned around. I thought he had changed his mind and would stop me from leaving but his eyes told me the opposite. He was still furious, and then he summoned for Claire. I frowned when he asked for Claire to see me off.
