Chapter 6

After informing one of the women that it was her turn for the examination, I asked if anyone had seen my father. They all shook their heads. Assuming he had gone home, I decided to return as well. I'd rather enjoy reading or baking than wait for the results. I planned to pick them up later when they were ready.
When I arrived home, the servants were busy and didn't notice me. I went straight to my room and took a quick shower to wash away the feeling of being examined. Then, I chose to wear something comfortable.
As usual, when I was engrossed in a book, I lost track of time. I was so focused on the story that I didn't notice someone kicking open my door. Startled, I dropped the book to the floor.
