Leah’s POV

The phone started right back at me, but there was no call coming in or anything. I stared at it for a few minutes and there was still no call. Then I remembered that I had not actually given him my number. 

It was his number that was saved in the phone. “Gosh,” I groaned as I made my way back inside of the building while trying to call Jake at the same time. He answered on the third ring. 

“Where are you?” That was the first question that he asked. It sounded like he was outside, in the parking area because I could hear cars in the background. 

“I’m heading out of the building right now, just give me a few minutes,” I said as I picked up my pace. My heart was thumping in my chest for some reason. Maybe it was because I felt like I was doing something wrong.
