Chapter 36. Crashing Out
Leah’s POV
We reached the dining area and my eyes landed on Jules. He was seated next to Rafael.
But they were not the only ones there. Rafael’s parents sat across from them.
The take was already set and everything, and it looked like they were waiting for me before starting. Everyone was dressed as if they were supposed to be leaving to go somewhere right after breakfast.
“Good, she’s finally here,” Rafael’s dad said in a sour tone. “The Queen.” Sarcasm dripped from his tone.
I avoided looking at him, remembering that the last time, he was literally assaulting me. I sat down at the table and the guard left.
Everyone started eating now. I knew that I needed food but I had lost my appetite. I was full from the anxiety and nervousness in me.
So I basically picked at my food. I would put some egg into my mouth just so it wouldn’t look like I was being disrespectful.
