Chapter 25. I’m Not Iris

Adeline’s POV

I was just with Rosa, talking about working with her, about becoming a doctor for the pack. For once, I felt like I had a purpose, a chance to carve out my own place, to finally step out of Iris’s shadow.

To finally quench the whispers and give them something new to talk about.

I was excited—truly excited—about something that had nothing to do with Theodore, nothing to do with this marriage, nothing to do with him at all.

Even if Rosa seemed a little skeptical, even if she didn’t believe I could do it, I didn’t care. I had made up my mind.

And for the first time in a long while, I felt like I had something to look forward to—something that would help me keep Theodore out of my mind.

I was still wrapping my head around it when the door suddenly burst open.

Theodore stormed in like he was being chased, his presence overwhelmed the entire room.

I shot to my feet, startled, my heart racing at the way he barged in.
