Could it be that I was jealous?
The thought just consumed at me, winding through my mind like a serpent refusing to let go.
What was it about Adeline that unsettled me this way?
Every time I was near her, something inside me would just become so restless.
I told myself it had nothing to do with Iris, nothing to do with the betrayal that had once torn me apart.
