Chapter 31. Confessions
Theodore’s POV
“I didn’t know what I was doing at first. I was just drunk,” I said to Adeline.
But it was a lie.
I did know what I was doing. Every single moment of it.
I had planned it. I wanted her to pay—for Iris’s sins, for the betrayal, for everything. But fate had a way of twisting even the best-laid plans.
Because somehow, in the middle of it all, Adeline had become more than just a consequence.
Would I say she won my heart?
“Do you consider it cheating?” she asked. “That you cheated on Iris with her sister just a day before your wedding?”
I scoffed. “We just got carried away, Adeline. Don’t dwell too much on the past. You’re with me now, right?”
Her lips parted slightly, but she didn’t look convinced. “But do you feel anything for me, Theodore?” she asked. “Or are you with me just because you needed me?”
I paused.
I exhaled slowly. “Well… if Iris hadn’t left, maybe I wouldn’t have noticed you,” I admitt
