Chapter 57. A Bad Surprise?

Adeline’s POV

“So… I was thinking of breaking the news to Theodore tonight,” I said softly, stirring the sauce on the stove as the rich aroma filled the kitchen.

Rosa stood beside me, peeling apples for the dessert.

“Finallyyyy!” she squealed, tossing a piece into the bowl. “So what made you change your mind?”

I sighed, my shoulders rising and falling slowly. “I don’t even know if I’m making the right decision.”

“It is, Adeline,” Rosa said firmly. “Theodore has every right to know that you’re with his child. Don’t you think he’ll be happy about it?”
