Chapter 58. Iris Was Right
Adeline’s POV
Since six?
Where in the goddess’s name was Theodore?
At this point, I was totally worried—no, I was beyond worried.
My heart was flying really fast, my mind spinning in circles, refusing to calm down.
If they had truly ended the meeting by six, then Theodore should’ve been home long before Rosa left.
He should’ve walked in on me setting the candles, arranging the plates, humming nervously as I rehearsed how I’d surprise him.
He was supposed to catch me in the act.
“Uhm… thanks, Lucian,” I said softly, almost about to end the call when something popped in my head.
“Lucian, wait…” I said quickly, the words tumbling from my lips before I could stop them. “Do you know if he’s left the meeting already?”
“Yes… We finished since six,” he said, his voice was calm but slightly puzzled. “And he left even before we rounded up. I thought he was coming home.”
“He left before the meeting even finished?” I asked
