“How is she? Did you see her? Is she awake?” I asked Theodore the moment he stepped out of the pack’s hospital.

His shoulders were tense, his eyes stormy, and he wasn’t looking too happy—not that I cared much.

Honestly, I would’ve kissed him right there if Adeline hadn’t come to ruin everything.
