“I said, you’re not welcome,” Jack said with a grunt, his eyes burning into me. I felt as though he was being a little extreme in his greeting to me. “No Highland pack member is welcome to step through that front door.”
“We don’t have to fight,” I said, holding up my hands in surrender. “I’m not your enemy, my son just brought me here for a quiet drink.”
“Yes you are my enemy,” Jack said quickly. “And I hurt my enemies, slowly and painfully.”
“Okay action man,” Milo said, standing to his feet as he joined us. “Come on Jack, are you auditioning for a movie or something here? You’re doing a great job!” he grinned. “Don’t call us, we’ll call you.”
