Chapter 77. This Isn’t Freya
Rufus’s POV
As I began to run down the street, I could feel Silver awaken and appear into the forefront of my mind. It was then I felt my body shift and move as our bodies swapped and the wolf took over. It had felt like a lifetime since I had shifted, after being so cautious with the hunters around, especially in such a public space as this neighborhood.
‘I got this,’ Silver said in my mind ‘I’ll get us back to Freya quickly, she will be safe once we arrive.’
‘Hurry,’ I said in return, my words desperate ‘I don’t care who sees us, I just want to be by her side again,’ I imagined holding Freya in my arms, kissing her soft forehead gently and enjoying the smell of her sweet, warming scent.
I landed on all four of my paws, and as I did I instantly began to move. My pace was speeding down the street, dead center as no cars were around this late at night. I felt my entire body move, and I enjoyed the freedom. It had been a while since I had been let loose
