Chapter 40. Confusion

Elena's POV.

I got dressed for school and purposely packed my hair so my love bite would be visible. I picked up my bag and stepped out, only to meet my mum again. I mumbled under my breath, rolling my eyes.

"Elena, I'm sorry," I heard her say, but I just walked past her. I was no longer mad at her, but I just wanted us all to keep our distance.

"Elena, wait!" she called out, but I ignored her and ran out. I drove off to school, feeling a sense of freedom as I left the drama at home.

As I arrived at school, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. I had a secret, and it was written all over my neck. I walked into class, my head held high, and my love bite visible for all to see.

I caught a few stares, and some whispers, but I didn't care. I was proud of my love bite, and I was proud of Derek. I just wished he would respond to my text, but that's not a problem we will see after class. The mere thought o
