Chapter 71. Unaccomplished Mission

I groaned in agony as I struggled to sit up, my eyes throbbing with pain. It infuriated me that I was suffering while Elena seemed to be fine.

And to make matters worse, the Idiot I called my boyfriend was nowhere to be found. I recalled how he had doted on Elena when she had a minor injury, spending the entire day by her side. Yet, here I was, left to suffer alone. I let out a hiss as I moved my hand, and a sharp pain shot through me, making me wince.

"Damn it!" I cursed under my breath, still trying to process what had just happened. Her wolf was incredibly powerful - if she hadn't stopped attacking me, I'd likely be dead by now. What really baffled me was how she had managed to regain her powers in the first place.
