Chapter 22
Daciana struggled against the hunters as they forced her to eat the food they had prepared for her. She was convinced that it was poisoned, a punishment for her recent attempt to escape. The hunters laughed at her resistance, their cruel eyes glinting with amusement as they held her down.
Tears welled up in Daciana's eyes as she fought against them, fear and desperation overwhelming her. She couldn't believe that she had been caught so easily, her plan to escape foiled by these ruthless hunters. She had dreamed of freedom for so long, and now it seemed out of reach once again.
As the hunters forced the food into her mouth, Daciana closed her eyes tightly, bracing herself for the worst. But to her surprise, the food wasn't poisoned. It was bland and tasteless, but it was nourishment nonetheless. She couldn't understand why the hunters would go through the trouble of pretending to poison her food, but she was too relieved to care.
