Chapter 24
Killian paced back and forth in front of Daciana's empty cell, his anger bubbling to the surface. He had been so focused on taking Lucien down that he had forgotten about Daciana's punishment. He had promised her that he would make her pay for her crimes, but now she was nowhere to be found.
He turned to the guards, his voice rising in anger. "Where is she? What have you done with Daciana?" The guards cowered under his wrath, stammering apologies and explanations. Killian could see that they were genuinely confused and had no idea where Daciana had gone.
His anger dissipated, replaced with a sense of dread. He had failed in his promise as her father and had let Daciana slip through his fingers. Something told Killian that she had help; there was no way she could have broken free on her own.
