Chapter 23

Lucien felt a sudden sting in his neck and quickly touched the spot, trying to discern what had caused it. Despite finding nothing, the sensation persisted and made him uneasy. He tried to shake it off and maintain his composure as he smiled at Sara, who returned the smile.

They were talking about something important.

As the conversation continued, Lucien found it increasingly difficult to focus. The sting in his neck had now spread to a dull ache throughout his body, making him feel sluggish and disoriented. He couldn't help but feel that something was off, and the more he tried to ignore it, the more it seemed to consume him.

Sara, noticing Lucien's discomfort, asked if he was alright. He tried to brush it off, but the words came out forced and unconvincing. Sara's concern only added to his confusion and embarrassment. He couldn't understand why he was feeling this way, and it frustrated him that he couldn't control his own emotions.
