Chapter 50. Opening Up
It was early in the morning and Sarah had left the bedroom as soon as she finished her shower but the person she was trying to stay clear of, found his way down in a matter of minutes. She sat on the couch, arms folded on her chest and her eyes trained on the man who had joined her at the coffee table. He stared at a book he held upside down in his hand, pretending to be busy reading.
Not a word had left his mouth for half an hour but he kept stealing glances and clearing his throat every five minutes. It was obvious he had something to say but wouldn’t spit it out.
The tension in the house had been like this for days, but there was one person who didn’t seem affected at all and spent her entire day ruining Sarah’s.
Katie.
“I need clothes!” Her voice broke the silence, coming from upstairs.
“Hey!”
“I said I need clothes!”
“Those human ears stopped functioning or what?!”
“CLOTHES!”
“Are you ignoring me? Seriously?!”
“HUMAN?!
