Chapter 7. Alone with Damon Kalesto

“Don’t you dare take another step back.”

Damon’s voice boomed off the walls and pinned Sarah’s feet to the ground. Her heart nearly leaped through her chest.

He was now up and ready to unleash his impending wrath. If she didn’t run away now then she was surely going to get it. Her left foot just needed to slide a little bit further backwards and then she would’ve defied his orders. But… fear wouldn’t let her.

She gulped thickly before walking in, taking the chair at the farthest end of the table. But the moment her butt touched the wooden chair, Haguy and Trixie took a downcast glance at her. Sarah had no idea why, but their eyes were intense, even more so than the first time they met.

That didn’t stop Sarah from attempting to break the disturbing silence though. “H-Hi!” She sent a visibly shaking smile at the girls, one they refused to return. “Looks l-like the other one’s not here today… the unfriendly one.” She mumbled the last part.
