A few days after the prom, my mother woke me up at the crack of dawn.

"Get up," she said, throwing my curtains open. Sunlight spilled in. Okay, so maybe it wasn't the crack of dawn. Regardless, she had woken me up from a very sweet dream featuring Sean, and I did not appreciate that.
