Chapter 31. Afraid

Lucas was with Elijah at their house and decided to play with his son. He stared at the child while playing and began smiling at him. He was content with his family. He would never ask for more.

Lucas carried his child and kissed his cheeks, Elijah giggling at him. "Papa!" Elijah yelled.

He was startled by his son's sudden scream. His brow furrowed at him, and he worried his scream would render him deaf.
