Sinclair Mansion: Living Room
Holding Seraphina's hand, we went into Sinclair Mansion. I led the way to the living room, where I knew her parents were waiting. I wanted to see their reactions after everything had become clear.
"They're here," Papa said when we walked in. I looked at Seraphina and saw fear in her eyes. I felt sorry for her – scared of her own parents, or rather, guardians. She held onto my arm, seeking comfort. I understood her fear, but I didn't want her to be afraid of people like them. So, I gently took her arm and stood by her side.
"You! How dare you!?" Mr. Carter shouted, pointing an accusing finger at Seraphina. I wished I could cut off that finger. Seraphina clung to me even tighter, trembling with fear, which only made me angrier at them.
