[The next day]
“Hello, Hawa darling!” Mom Djènaba’s voice rang from the other end of the line.
“Hello, Mom Djènaba!”
“Oh, my little one, how are you?”
“I’m fine. Everything is going great.”
“Hasn’t the delivery guy called you yet about the machine?”
“No, not yet.”
“Ah! I’m going to go see their union tomorrow. It can’t go on like this.”
