Chapter 19
Hawa’s POV
It took us an hour to arrive at the house. I placed the empty bowls in the kitchen and went to my room to take a long bath. It was then that I felt all the tiredness of the day. I was completely exhausted, but fortunately tomorrow was the weekend and I didn’t have any classes to attend. After breakfast, I could sleep quietly.
My sewing machine was a bit late. I always forgot to ask my uncle about it. The person who was supposed to deliver it, as my mom Djènaba told me, was a cab driver with my number, but I didn’t receive any calls. I hoped he didn’t have the idea of stealing the machine from me.
Mom Djènaba warmed my ears with her advice on how I should take care of my man. She had no modesty, this woman. She described it to me in a raw way that made me want to scream in amazement.
