Jeremy’s POV
“You sure you are okay?” Chris asked me as he drove us back home.
“Yeah,” I muttered, but truly, it felt like a lie. I couldn’t stop thinking about what Vance said. It was heavy on my mind like a lead.
While I was in the ICU earlier, apart from hoping Zayne recovers, the rest of my thoughts had encircled around crashing in Teyana’s arms tonight. I wasn’t thinking of another way to comfort myself after all these, but in her arms.
That was before Vance’s words reshaped every single thought and destabilized me. He hadn’t said more afterwards. He only said we needed to focus on Zayne recovery first, then he would talk to his mother.
When I asked him to make more sense about the genetic compatibility between me and Zayne, he had said it could be coincidental and he would do more tests later.
