Chapter 120. When Our Hatred Cracked
Jeremy’s POV
Days had passed.
Earlier this week, I had men fix hidden cameras in my house. I couldn’t continue staying at Chris’, and definitely didn’t want to be at my father’s. There was already too much tension in the family. Teyana was there also—at least till school resumes. And we weren’t supposed to be seeing each other anytime soon.
It’d already been one straight week of torture without seeing her. We texted at odd hours, but we kept it curt.
I needed to focus on the real matters at hand.
I kept moving through the days, doing what I could to chase answers. I tracked down the people who handled the projector the night of my father’s campaign dinner—same night our video leaked. They all swore the same thing—they had been hacked. Nothing could be traced. No fingerprints, no location, no glitch. As if someone had slipped in and out of their system like smoke.
The lords hadn’t reached out. Chris hadn’t been suspicious.
