Chapter 4. Talking with Papa
"Dad, can you persuade Grandpa Jordy for unusual matters that he'll later voice out?" I asked with a slightly urgent tone. Papa's workspace hadn't changed much, except for the addition of more thick books. This was also one of my favorite rooms to visit when I came home, besides my own room, of course.
The man I admired and looked up to as my number one role model was sitting at his desk, reading one of the books that I assumed was his current reading material. His glasses were perched slightly lower on his nose. In my eyes, the wrinkles around his eyes were clearly visible. Suddenly, my chest ached.
"Greetings, Krystal."
No matter how old I was, when Papa said that, I still pouted playfully. "Sorry, Pa. The issue can't be delayed to be discussed."
Papa lowered his glasses. He smiled warmly at me, and I happily rushed into his embrace, absorbing the deep scent of his favorite scented clothes.
